Lavender Latte
LAVENDER LATTE😍
One of my favorite luxuries of a lazy Sunday morning is whipping up a special latte, and this lavender one is one of my favs. You start by making a super easy honey lavender simple syrup, that you can use throughout the week in coffee, cocktails, even desserts. You’re going to love this!
**Note: the lavender flavor is quite subtle, so you need about 1½ tbsps of simple syrup in your coffee to taste it. If you don’t like your coffee very sweet, add more lavender to your simple syrup or reduce the honey quantity.
I have linked my favorite items I used for this here, including the dried lavender I get on Amazon!
Ingredients:
For the Honey Lavender Simple Syrup (makes 4-6 servings)
½ cup honey
½ cup water
1 ½ tbsps dried lavender
½ tsp vanilla extract
For the Lavender Latte (per 1 serving):
Double shot espresso
4 tsps honey lavender simple syrup
¼-½ cup dairy free or regular creamer
Directions:
For the Honey Lavender Latte:
Add honey, water, dried lavender, and vanilla extract to a saucepan and place on medium heat. Stir often until the mixture starts to bubble up and foam, then shut off the heat and let it cool completely, about 15-20 minutes at least. Strain into an airtight jar and keep for up to 2 weeks.
For the latte, froth the creamer with 2 tsps of simple syrup.
For a hot latte, add the espresso and 2 tsps of simple syrup to a mug and pour over the frothed milk.
For an iced latte, fill a glass with ice, then add 2 tsps of simple syrup, the espresso, and the frothed milk. For an extra fun drink, shake the espresso, ice, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker and pour into a glass before adding the frothed creamer.
Note: I garnished with lavender buds for decor, but it is unpleasant to drink the latte with the buds in there, so I recommend skipping that!
