Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso

BROWN SUGAR SHAKEN ESPRESSO😍

My favorite Starbucks drink, made sooo much cheaper at home. I love making a big batch of this brown sugar simple syrup for quick and easy shaken espressos all week long! The ultimate Saturday treat ;)

Ingredients:

For the Brown Sugar Simple Syrup (makes about 6-8 servings):

  • ½ cup packed brown sugar

  • ½ cup water

  • 1 cinnamon stick or ½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso (per 1 serving):

  • 2 shots strong espresso

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar simple syrup (use a little more if you like it very sweet)

  • Ice

  • Oat milk or Nutpods to top

Directions:

For the Brown Sugar Simple Syrup:

  • Add all ingredients to a small saucepan and cook on medium low, stirring often until the sugar has dissolved. Shut off the heat and let cool.

  • Strain into an airtight glass container and keep for up to a month.

For the Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso:

  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Pour over your hot espresso, 1-1.5 tbsps of simple syrup and shake for 30 seconds or until your hand is very cold.

  • Fill a glass up halfway with ice and pour the whole shaken espresso into it (do not strain it, you will lose the foam!). Top with oat milk or non-dairy creamer and enjoy!
